Aker wins first China subsea order

China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) has contracted Aker Solutions for a subsea production system for the Yacheng 13-4 gas field.

ZHANJIANG, China -- China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) has contracted Aker Solutions for a subsea production system for the Yacheng 13-4 gas field. The $20-million order is Aker Solutions’ first for a Chinese subsea project.

Yacheng 13-4 is in 90 m (295 ft) water depth in the northern part of the South China Sea, 72 km (44.7 mi) southwest of Sanya City in Hainan Province.

The work scope comprises engineering, manufacturing, and delivering of three subsea wellhead systems, three gas production subsea trees, control systems, subsea distribution system, and installation support services.

Deliveries are expected to begin in 3Q 2011 from Aker Solutions’ subsea center in Port Klang, Malaysia.
