WASHINGTON, D.C. – The US Department of Interior has established the Office of Natural Resources Revenues within the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Policy, Management, and Budget. The ONRR will collect and manage revenues from energy development on public lands, including offshore.

This is another part of the Interior Secretary Ken Salazar’s reorganization of the Minerals Management Service. The ONRR replaces the Minerals Revenue Management Program. Its responsibilities include auditing and compliance, investigation and enforcement, and asset management.

Salazar said the DoI is undertaking a strategic review to identify opportunities to further improve performance in all areas of ONRR operations.
