BERGEN, Norway -- BP and Odfjell Drilling have signed a two-year agreement for the Deepsea Stavanger to drill on Block 18 offshore Angola. BP has three, one-year options for further use of the rig.

DSME in South Korea delivered the harsh-environment rig to Odfjell in July. It drilled its first well offshore Tanzania in a deepwater program for Ophir Energy.

The contract is valued at around $340 million for the fixed period, and should start during the first half of 2011.
