ANTWERP, Belgium -- TI Africa, owner of the FSO Africa, has signed a new contract to provide Maersk Oil Qatar with FSO services on the Al Shaheen field offshore Qatar.

The contract, with a three-year duration, starts end-August. It will be paid a base rate which will increase if and when Maerks requests further capacity and features for the FSO are requested by MOQ.

TI Africa says the FSO Africa and its sister vessel, FSO Asia, are the world’s largest largest double-hulled FSOs. Both are owned by joint venture companies in which OSG and Euronav each have a 50% interest.
