BERGEN, Norway – CGGVeritas has launched what it says is the largest, most powerful X-Bow design seismic vessel. The Oceanic Vega was launched at a naming ceremony at the Ulstein Verft shipyard.
The Oceanic Vega, and its sister vessel the Oceanic Sirius due for completion in fall 2011, are purpose designed to two up to 20 Sercel Sentinel solid streamers with Nautilus controls, and are designed for large 3D and 4D high-resolution projects. Both are Ice Class vessels.
