STAVANGER, Norway – Hitec Vision has agreed to acquire Tampnet AS from Statoil. Tampnet is an offshore installation communication network covering 34 oil and gas fields and more than 60 platforms in the North Sea.
“As offshore oil platforms are becoming more automated, and integrated operations between teams onshore and workers out on the platforms increase in scope and complexity, reliable communications facilities become ever more important,” says Gunnar Halvorsen, senior partner, Hitec Vision. “We have followed and invested in this segment before, and believe Tampnet has great future potential. We look forward to working with the company’s management to develop it further.”
