BP contracts Technip for Devenick pipelines

BP has awarded Technip a subsea engineering and installation contract for the Devenick field gas/condensate development in the UK northern North Sea, 234 km (145 mi) north east of Aberdeen.

PARIS – BP has awarded Technip a subsea engineering and installation contract for the Devenick field gas/condensate development in the UK northern North Sea, 234 km (145 mi) north east of Aberdeen. 

Technip’s operating center in Aberdeen will provide project management, engineering, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of the 33.5 km (20.8-mi) pipe-in-pipe production pipeline, with a 16-in. (40.6-cm) carrier pipeline and a 3-in. (7.6-cm) piggyback methanol, along with various in-field flowlines and umbilicals.

Vessels employed for the offshore installations will including the new pipelayer,Apache II, the Orelia, Skandi Arctic and the anchor handling tug supply vessel, Normand Mariner. The work is due to be completed during 2011. 

BP has also given Technip a three-year frame agreement contract with two further one-year options, covering all diving and R&M activities related to BP’s UK North Sea platforms, subsea fields, and pipelines.

This award takes immediate effect. Total value is around £120 million ($180 million).
