PARIS -- Burullus Gas Co. has awarded Technip a $300 million-plus engineering, procurement, installation, and construction (EPIC) contract for the West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) Phase VIIIa development.

The project involves expanding the existing WDDM facilities, 95 km (59 mi) offshore Egypt in the Mediterranean Sea.

Technip's scope will include:

• Design, supply, and installation of three production manifolds and three subsea distribution assemblies

• Engineering, welding and installation of 67 km (41.6 mi) of rigid production flowlines

• Engineering, fabrication and installation of 88 km (54.7 mi) of umbilicals, 12 km (7.5 mi) of flexible flowlines, and three flexible jumpers

• Connecting the flowlines and umbilicals to wellheads and subsea manifolds

• Pre-commissioning of the entire system and providing support for commissioning and start-up.

Technip’s operating center in Paris will manage the contract, assisted by Genesis in London and the Group’s team in Cairo. Umbilicals will be fabricated by Duco in Newcastle, UK, and the flexible pipes at Technip’s plant in Le Trait, northern France.

The offshore campaign should start during spring 2011.
