LIMASSOL, Cyprus -- Chevron North Sea has contracted SeaBird Exploration Ltd to acquire a large-scale,  ocean bottom node seismic survey West of Shetland in a water depth of 1,200 m (3,937 ft).

The full-azimuth survey will compile multi-component data for improved reservoir imaging and characterization. It will be performed by the survey vessel Hugin Explorer, which has an onboard capacity of 750 proprietary autonomous CASE Abyss nodes, and the source vessel Kondor Explorer, and is due to cover a dense shooting program of around 250 sq km (96 sq mi).

The survey will start at the end of May, and should last three months, including mobilization and demobilization.
