Noble picks Aker for Tamar umbilicals

STAVANGER, Norway -- Noble Energy Inc. has awarded Aker Solutions a NOK 650 million ($109 million) contract to engineer and manufacture 240 km (149 mi) of steel tube umbilicals for the Tamat project in the Mediterranean.

Engineering and project management will be from Aker's Houston office and manufacturing will be done at Mobile, Alabama. Estimated delivery is 2Q 2011.
