Van Gogh records first oil

HOUSTON – The Exmouth basin Van Gogh development offshore Western Australia in WA-35-L is producing first oil, says Apache Corp.

Van Gogh, discovered in 2003, is Apache's first field development using an FPSO vessel. The Ningaloo Vision can process 150,000 b/d of liquids including 63,000 b/d of oil, and store 540,000 bbl of oil.The field was developed with 19 horizontal production laterals, two water injection wells, and one gas injection well.

Apache, the Van Gogh field operator, owns a 52.5% with INPEX owning the remaining interest. Van Gogh is 32 miles (53 km) north-northwest of Exmouth.
