ARGAS awarded two OBC contracts

Saudi Aramco has awarded ARGAS, a Saudi Arabian joint venture owned by CGGVeritas and TAQA, two ocean bottom cable (OBC) 3D data acquisition contracts totaling $375 million.

PARIS -- Saudi Aramco has awarded ARGAS, a Saudi Arabian joint venture owned by CGGVeritas and TAQA, two ocean bottom cable (OBC) 3D data acquisition contracts totaling $375 million.

The first contract covers an 18-month program, scheduled to begin in June. The second contract will begin in October and continue for two years. The contracts have an 18-month and two-year optional extension period, respectively.

The projects covers an initial 6,000 sq km (2,317 sq mi) over the next three years in depths ranging from 20 to 60 m (66 to 197 ft) in the Gulf’s Saudi waters.
