Technip wins Asgard project EPCI contract

Statoil has awarded Technip an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation lump sum contract for the Åsgard gas transfer project in the North Sea.

PARIS-- Statoil has awarded Technip an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation lump sum contract for the Åsgard gas transfer project in the North Sea.

The contract covers fabrication and installation of a 4-km (2.5-mi) rigid flowline in 2010 and the replacement of two flexible risers in 2011.

Technip’s operating center in Oslo, Norway will execute the contract. The group’s spoolbase in Orkanger will fabricate the flowlines. The newly converted Apache II will perform installation work, while 2011 marine operations will be conducted from Skandi Arctic.
