HONG KONG -- CNOOC has started production from its JinZhou 25-1 South (JZ25-1S) and Caofeidian (CFD)18-2 oil and gas fields in Bohai Bay ahead of schedule. Two more oil fields, BoZhong (BZ) 13-1 and BoZhong 34-1 North (BZ34-1N), came on stream earlier this month, as planned.

JZ25-1S is located in Liaodong Bay in an average water depth of around 25 m (82 ft). The field is expected to attain peak production in 2012 of 20,000b/d of oil and 53MMcf/d of gas. Well A18 is currently generating 6,000boe/d, the company adds.

BZ13-1 in the western part of Bohai Bay and BZ 34-1N in the southern sector should both achieve peak production of around 12,000 boe/d in 2010

CNOOC is 100% owner and operator of all four fields.
