Normand Subsea begins Ormen Lange work

Subsea 7's ROV support vessel Normand Subsea has begun work on the Ormen Lange field in the North Sea under a long-term underwater services contract with Shell.

ABERDEEN, UK -- Subsea 7's ROV support vessel Normand Subsea has begun work on the Ormen Lange field in the North Sea under a long-term underwater services contract with Shell.

The vessel’s first workscope at the field includes template and pipeline inspections and ship wreck surveys.

Normand Subsea features a fully enclosed hangar; built-in module handling system, 150-metric ton (165-ton) heave compensated crane, two work class ROVs and four observation class ROVs all equipped for 1,200-m (3,937-ft) depths, a hull with five moonpools, a well treatment system, and an online and offline survey suite.
