Drilling on Gulf of Suez Burtocal North well progresses

ADELAIDE, Australia -- The Burtocal North (NS 394-3) exploration well in the Gulf of Suez is drilling at a depth of 2,923 m (9,590 ft) towards the primary reservoir objective Nubia formation, according to operator BP. The NS 377-3 production well is at a depth of 1,198 m (3,930 ft).

The company has installed a 13 3/8-in. (34-cm) casing and is now preparing to drill ahead towards its extended reach target.
