Subsea 7 wins Casino-Henry field subsea contract

Santos has awarded Subsea 7 an $80-million subsea pipeline and installation services contract for the Casino-Henry field, offshore Australia.

ABERDEEN, UK -- Santos has awarded Subsea 7 an $80-million subsea pipeline and installation services contract for the Casino-Henry field, offshore Australia.

Subsea 7’s work scope includes installation of a 22-km (14-mi) long, 12-in. (30-cm) rigid pipeline to connect subsea production trees at the Henry-2 and Netherby locations together with four rigid spool pieces, and installation of a 22-km (14-mi) electro-hydraulic umbilical from Casino-4 to Pecten East. Project management and engineering work will begin immediately and will be performed by Subsea 7’s offices in Singapore.

Offshore operations are scheduled to begin at the end of the year and will use the deepwater pipelay and construction vessel Seven Navica, supported by the diving support vessel Rockwater 2.

The Casino-Henry field is in the Otway basin in water depths of 56 to 72 m (184 to 236 ft). The field is operated by Santos on behalf of a joint venture with Australian Worldwide Exploration and Mitsui E&P Australia.
