RIO DE JANEIRO -- Petrobras has hit pay with well 1-BRSA-713-RJS (1-RJS-661) in the Campos basin. Preliminary analysis indicates recoverable volumes of around 280 MMbbl of light oil (28°API) and good productivity, the company says. The well was drilled in 976.5 m (3,204 ft) water depth in Petrobras-operated Exploratory Concession BM-C-36 (block C-M-401).

The discovery was proved though a lined well formation test, in reservoirs ranging from 2,993 to 3,123 m (9,820 to 10,246 ft), the company says. Petrobras is now formulating a Discovery Assessment Plan to submit to the ANP.
