Niko to operate 2AB block offshore Trinidad

CALGARY, Canada -- Niko Resources has signed an agreement with Centrica to acquire a 26% interest and operate the shallow water block 2AB offshore Trinidad. Both the assignment of the interest and the operatorship are subject to approval from the government of Trinidad and Tobago.

The final equities in block 2AB will be Niko Resources with 26%, Centrica with 29.25%, Voyager Energy with 9.75%, and Petroleum Co. of Trinidad and Tobago (Petrotrin) with 35%.

Block 2AB is near the Angostura producing oil and gas field, which has reserves in excess of 100 MMbbl of oil and 1 tcf of gas.
