NEW ORLEANS -- Bisso Marine has completed a pipelay project in the Gulf of Mexico.
Dive crews aboard the DSV Joseph Bisso laid 900 ft (274 m) of 6-in. (15-cm) pipe in a water depth of 66 ft (20 m). The pipeline was laid using a portable lay system and the vessel's 30-ton (27-metric-ton) hydraulic crane.
The month-long project also involved installing a 16 x 6-in. (41 x 15-cm) hot tap fitting that allowed the client to continue operating the pipeline without disruptions.
