Offshore staff
ABERDEEN, UK --Talisman Energy's UKCS production averaged 95,800 boe/d last year, relatively unchanged from 2007. Increases from newly on stream projects such as Blane and Tweedsmuir were offset by natural decline and maintenance shutdowns at Claymore and the Monarb complex.
New UK projects under way include the Burghley and Auk North subsea developments, and engineering work has also started on the Auk South re-development.
Offshore Norway, the company lifted its production by 15% to an average of 34,866 boe/d, partly due to output from new wells at Varg, Brage and Gyda. In January, the Rev field came on stream from two subsea wells at a rate of 15,000 boe/d net, with a third producer, Rev East, due on line later this year. Development drilling continues on the Yme field, with seven more wells set to be completed in 2009.
Talisman picked up two further Norwegian licenses recently under the APA 2008 round, and has also bid for blocks in the Barents Sea under Norway's 20th licensing round. Results are due this spring.
