Iran, China sign deal for Persian Gulf LNG

Iran's National Iranian Oil Co. (NIOC) and three Chinese companies have signed a $3.2 billion deal to produce liquefied natural gas in the South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf.

TEHRAN -- Iran's National Iranian Oil Co. (NIOC) and three Chinese companies have signed a $3.2 billion deal to produce liquefied natural gas in the South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf.

The project will be carried out in two stages, each of which will be completed in three years.

A European firm will also join the project within the next three months, according to NIOC.
