Helix buys Optima system for MSV Well Enhancer

GLASGOW -- Helix Well Ops has purchased the Optima (R) system, for its new light well intervention vessel, MSV Well Enhancer.

"Optima (R) is a suite of on-board riser management tools for monitoring and planning operations with drilling, completion/workover, and LWI risers," says Alan Dougan, head of the structural monitoring division of Fugro GEOS.

Since its launch in late May 2008, MSV Well Enhancer has been undergoing equipment outfitting in Rotterdam, Holland, and is due to begin working for Helix Well Ops clients in a few months when all outfitting, sea trials and crew training are completed.
