Mærsk Gallant spuds NCS well

STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- The jackup Mærsk Gallant has spudded well 2/5-14S in North Sea sector of the Norwegian continental shelf, says Lundin Petroleum. The company also plans to drill side track 2/5-14A.

The well is targeting the Hyme prospect while the side track 2/5-14A is an appraisal well on the South East Tor discovery.

Lundin Petroleum estimates that the Hyme prospect has unrisked resource of 38 MMboe. The South East Tor Chalk discovery has estimated resources of 22.5 MMboe, the company says.
