Santos extends Songa Mercur contract

OSLO, Norway -- Santos has exercised its third and final option in its contract with Songa Offshore ASA for work on the western shelf of Australia by the semisubmersible Songa Mercur.

The new period will run for an additional six months from Jan. 17, 2009, until July 17, 2009, at $400,000 a day.
