StatoilHydro gets Morvin approval

STAVANGER, Norway – StatoilHydro has received official approval of its Plan for Development and Operation of Morvin field in the Norwegian Sea.

The NOK 8.7 billion ($1.69 billion) PDO field is 15 km (9 mi) northwest of Asgard. First oil is scheduled for summer of 2010, reaching a maximum of 27,000 boe/d.

StatoilHydro has awarded Aker Solutions the subsea production system contract. Subsea templates and tubing are scheduled for installation this summer.

Operator StatoilHydro has 64% of the license, with Eni holding 30% and Total 6%.
