Swiber breaks into India market with EPCIC contract

BG Exploration and Production India Ltd. has issued a Letter of Intent (LOI) to Swiber Offshore Construction Pte Ltd. for engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commission (EPCIC) work in the Arabian Sea.

SINGAPORE -- BG Exploration and Production India Ltd. has issued a Letter of Intent (LOI) to Swiber Offshore Construction Pte Ltd. for engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commission (EPCIC) work in the Arabian Sea. The LOI is Swiber Offshore's first EPCIC project win in the Indian market.

The $127-million EPCIC contract is the group's second single largest EPCIC contract to date.

Under the terms of the LOI, Swiber's project scope includes the design, engineering, procurement, fabrication, surveys, load out, tie-down/sea fastening/sail out, transportation, installation, hook up, and pre-commissioning of various facilities situated in the Arabian Sea, off the west coast of India, near Mumbai.

The project work will begin in 1Q 2008, with completion targeted for 2Q 2009.
