Eni successfully completes Gamma well

MILAN, Italy -- Eni has successfully completed the Gamma offshore exploration well in the Norwegian Sea, southeast of Mikkel field.

The well, in production license 312 at a water depth of 226 m (741 ft), was drilled to 2,508 m (8,228 ft) TD and found gas deposits estimated at between 12 and 16 MMboe. Eni holds a 17% stake in the PL 312. Other partners are StatoilHydro (59%, operator) and ExxonMobil (24%).

Gas volumes will be produced using infrastructure at the Mikkel field and exported to markets through the Åsgard Transportation System pipelines.
