Offshore staff

ASHGABAD, Turkmenistan -- Dragon Oil has completed its sixth development well this year in the Cheleken Contract Area of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.

The Dzheitune A/122 well, drilled by the jackup Iran Khazar from the Dzheitune (Lam) 22 production platform, had an initial flow rate of 3,563 b/d of oil. This pushed overall production from the Lam complex to a new high of 39,637 b/d.

The Iran Khazar has since skidded to slot five on the platform to drill another development well, A/123, to a target depth of 4,100 m (13,451 ft). Another rig, the CIS-1, has also been mobilized to the Dzheitune 22 platform, where it has started drilling the first of another series of development wells. Well 22/124 will have a target depth of 3,800 m (12,467 ft).
