DUBAI -- Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has received the second of four twin screw Azymuth Stern Drive (ASD), mooring work, and oil recovery boats from Grandweld.
The vessels are 20 m (66 ft) long and capable of a top speed of 11.2 knots. Each boat is powered by twin MTU engines rated at 880 kW and has a bollard pull of 30 metric tons (33 tons).
Construction and handover of the first two boats was completed in less than 14 months. The third vessel will be delivered in Nov. 2007, and the last one is scheduled for delivery before Jan. 2008.
