Talisman gets first Blane oil

Talisman Energy (UK) Ltd. has started oil production from Blane field 160 mi (257 km) east of Aberdeen in UKCS block 30/31 and NCS block 1/2.

CALGARY, Alberta –Talisman Energy (UK) Ltd. has started oil production from Blane field 160 mi (257 km) east of Aberdeen in UKCS block 30/31 and NCS block 1/2.

With two horizontal development wells drilled in 2006, Blane is expected to reach peak production of 17,000 boe/d. Blane has a tieback to the Ula platform.

Talisman, the operator, holds (25%). Its partners are Talisman Energy Norge AS (18.0%), ENI UK Ltd (13.9%), ENI ULX Ltd (4.1%), MOC Exploration (U.K.) Ltd (14.0%), Bow Valley Petroleum (U.K.) Ltd (12.5%) and Roc Oil (GB) Ltd (12.5%).
