ABERDEEN, UK --Venture Production has completed and tested the first production well in its Chiswick gas development in the UK southern North Sea.

Following a multiple fracture well stimulation, the Chiswick Alpha well tested gas at up to 50 MMcf/d on a restricted 72/64-in. choke. Venture expects the well to eventually deliver gross production of 55-60 MMcf/d following a "clean-up" program on the Chiswick platform. This facility is tied back to Venture's Markham J6A installation in Dutch waters across the North Sea median line.

The jackupNonle Kolskya now will complete the second development well, Chiswick Gamma. Venture also plans to drill up to three more wells in the field targeting reserves in the Gamma block and the undrilled Beta block, subject to the performance of the first two wells.
