ASKER, Norway -- TGS-Nopec Geophysical Co. has started acquisition of a new multi-client 2D seismic program in Russia's Sea of Okhotsk, in partnership with Dalmorneftegeofizika.

The 5,500-km (3,418-mi) SA-07 survey covers an area close to Sakhalin Island. DMG will undertake processing at its center in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and expects to make the results available to clients by December.

This is the fourth consecutive year that this Norwegian-Russian partnership has jointly acquired seismic data in the Sakhalin region. The completed program will boost their databank of modern seismic in the area to over 35,000 km (21,748 mi).
