DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- Saipem SA has awarded the Lamprell Group contracts for topside process modules for an FPSO.
The $30.3-million fabrication contract covers construction of six topside process modules for theGimboa FPSO, which will work on the Gimboa field, 85 km (53 mi) offshore Angola in 700 m (2,297 ft) water depth. In addition to the main contract, there is an option for the fabrication of a pipe rack for $8.7 million.
The contract for modules, scheduled for delivery in August 2007, includes fabrication of the lift gas and flash gas compression modules, chemical injection skid, low- and high-pressure separation modules, process manifold, and equipment room.
When completed, the converted tanker will have an oil storage capacity of 1.8 MMbbl of oil and a production capacity of 60,000 b/d. TheGimboa FPSO is scheduled for deployment in early 2008 to coincide with first oil production. Sonangol P&P Angola will operate the FPSO.
In addition to the award from Saipem, Single Buoy Moorings Inc. has awarded Lamprell a $24.8-million fabrication contract under a framework agreement for topside process modules and the turntable/manifold structure for theFrade FPSO.
The project, scheduled for completion in November 2007, includes the fabrication of seven topside process modules including test and second-stage separation modules, a main gas compression module, a gas/flash gas compression module and the power generation module
The FPSO, moored by an internal turret accommodating 33 risers, will be fitted with topside process modules for 100,000 b/d oil production, treatment and compression of 106 MMcf/d of gas, and treatment and injection of 150,000 b/d of water.
